Fran has served as CFO and controller for Mullin Law PC since 2005. He also set up a consulting practice at that time to bring his specialized expertise to both existing and newly forming franchise companies. Before joining the firm Fran spent 20 years with 7-Eleven, the largest franchise convenience retailer in the world.
At 7-Eleven he held several positions working closely with operations and merchandising for franchise stores. Starting as a Field Consultant, he was responsible for franchise operational assistance and counseling as well as franchise sales and disclosure for the stores under his control. Rising through the ranks of franchise field operations he was appointed to a special task force that was charged with and successfully completed remodeling almost 200 stores in the Philadelphia Market in less than one year.
Upon completion of that project, he was appointed to head up 7-Eleven’s Fresh Food Initiative in the Mid Atlantic Division. In 1994 Fran opened the first proprietary commissary offering daily delivered fresh food to franchised 7-Eleven stores. Two months later he launched the first daily delivered proprietary fresh bakery program in a franchise area. Subsequently he was named as Non Foods and Gasoline Merchandising Manager for over 1,000 stores in the Northeast Division. After two years he was appointed Sales and Merchandise Manager for the Mid Atlantic Division overseeing all products, services, and daily distribution operations in that area.
In 2001, he was asked to move to Dallas and expand the fresh bakery program as the National Category Manager for Fresh Bakery. Working with strategic manufacturers and a network of proprietary bakeries, he oversaw development of the award winning products that, for the first time, were made fresh and sent to over 4,300 stores every day.
In his last year with 7-Eleven, Fran was selected by a member of the board of directors to improve product development and logistics with a goal of multiple deliveries of fresh products to stores every day. He developed the product development template for regional strategic business teams charged with rapid, local product development, redesigned the stores to accommodate the new products, and worked with the logistics team to set up multiple deliveries to a test group of stores.
